Common preflop matchups

Rounded equities computed by full enumeration of all 1,712,304 possible boards. Click any matchup to load it into the calculator.

How to use the poker odds calculator

  1. Enter hole cards. Click a card slot, then a card in the deck, or type it: A h gives A♥. Leave a seat empty to model an unknown, random hand.
  2. Add the board. Fill 3, 4 or 5 community cards to see flop, turn and river equity. Leave it empty for preflop odds.
  3. Read the result. Equity is the share of the pot each hand wins on average, counting ties as split pots. Win and tie percentages are shown separately, together with how often each hand ends as a flush, a straight, two pair and so on.
  4. Share it. “Copy link” puts the whole scenario into the URL, so you can post it in a forum or send it to a coach.

How the odds are calculated

There are two honest ways to compute poker equity, and this calculator uses both. When every hand is known, it enumerates every possible run-out: 1,712,304 boards for a heads-up preflop spot, 990 for a flop, 44 for a turn. Those results are exact to the last decimal. When a seat is random or the space is too large (multi-way Omaha preflop, for example), it switches to Monte Carlo simulation with hundreds of thousands of random deals and reports the statistical margin next to the result. Press “More precision” to run five times as many samples.

The hand evaluator was verified against an independent implementation on 300,000 random seven-card hands with zero disagreements. Everything runs in a background thread in your browser: no upload, no server, no account.

Frequently asked questions

What is equity in poker?
Equity is your share of the pot if the hand were played to showdown with no more betting. A hand with 35% equity in a $100 pot “owns” $35 of it on average. Compare equity with the price you are offered (pot odds) to decide whether a call is profitable.
Is the calculator exact or an estimate?
Exact whenever every hole card is known: the status line then says how many boards were enumerated. With random seats or very large spaces it is a Monte Carlo estimate; the status line shows the sample count and the approximate margin of error, usually under ±0.2%.
What do dead cards mean?
Cards that are out of play but not on the board: folded hands you saw, exposed cards, or cards you are certain an opponent does not hold. Removing them from the deck changes the odds slightly.
Why is AK only 46% against QQ?
A pair is already a made hand; AK needs to pair up or make a straight or flush. Overcards versus a pair is the classic coin flip, and the pair is the small favourite unless the ace or king is suited or shares a suit with the pair.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The card picker, the results and the sharing links all work on touch screens, and the calculation runs on the phone itself.
